Norwegian designer Kristine Five Melvær designs tableware, lighting, furniture, graphic design and textile objects. She holds a Masters degree in Industrial Design from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, and a Masters degree in Visual Communication from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Melvær bridges the two disciplines and focuses on the communicative potential of objects in order to create emotional bonds between object and user. She works freely across product categories and materials, and often beyond the product itself, and into art direction and graphic design. Melvær has won a number of awards within both of her disciplines.
